With her single “Style” from the re-released version of her studio album “1989” playing in the background, Swift narrates in the special tribute to the female athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
@nbcolympics “Never be afraid to show them who you are…especially when the whole world is watching.” -@Taylor Swift Katie. Sha’Carri. Simone. They’ll never go out of style. Primetime in Paris: Tonight at 8/7c on NBC and Peacock. #ParisOlympics ♬ original sound – NBC Olympics & Paralympics
“Never be afraid to show them who you are,” Taylor Swift states in the Olympic promo. “Especially when the whole world is watching. Because there’s no one way to be the best. No one way to inspire everyone else who will someday follow. You do what you love, [and] you love what you do. You believe in your style, whatever it is.”
The promo shows clips of Simone Biles as well as Team USA’s swimmer Katie Ledecky and sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson competing in Paris. “Katie, Sha’Carri, and Simone,” Swift then concludes. “Three American stars, three different visions of greatness, tonight in Paris.”
Taylor Swift previously gushed that she was ready to scream at her TV after her track “…Ready For It?” was used in another 2024 Olympic promo clip. “So ready to scream at my tv cheering for these athletes 🏅,” Swift captioned her Instagram story alongside the clip. It featured a stunning view of the illuminated Eiffel Tower in Paris, accompanied by a live rendition of the singer’s 2017 hit.
Along With Taylor Swift, Beyoncé Participates in Olympic Promo
Following the 2024 Paris Olympic Games ceremony, NBC released a promo clip featuring Beyoncé.
In her promo, the former Destiny’s Child bandmate saluted Simone Biles, who led what she referred to as a “redemption tour” with fellow Team USA gymnastics members.
“Let’s talk about power, because really, that’s what this story is about. Physical power. It’s beauty, it’s wonder, the way it never stops amazing you,” Beyoncé declared. “Then there’s spiritual power, the kind that really matters. The power you can’t see, only sense. The power you need in those moments when life goes a little sideways on you.”
Beyoncé then gave a shout out to various Team USA athletes. “Come on, you’ve gotta love Noah [Lyles] and Sha’Carri. The fastest man and woman on the planet. They’ll race the world anytime, any place,” she shared.
“How about Caeleb [Dressel]? Proud papa, back in the drink for more gold. And Katie? The longer the race, the better she swims. And I know you know my girl Simone. Born to fly, destined to inspire.”
She then added, “We’ve got superstars and we’ve got legends. We’ve got big dreamers who fought their whole lives to get here. Who gave up everything for one shot, and made it.”
