Nearly two decades after The Simple Life came to an end, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are teaming up again for a new TV series.

Sources close to the situation told TMZ that the former besties are ready to return to the small screen together in a new show. However, it won’t be like their former hit reality series.
Instead, the sources stated that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are working on the show with a new name There isn’t any other information, other than the series was greenlit. The show has also been in the works for months now, as Paris and Nicole were going back and forth about some ideas.
It was further revealed that James Corden‘s production company, Fulwell 73, has the rights to the upcoming series.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie starred in The Simple Life from 2003 to 2007. The show had five seasons and was available on Fox as well as E! The show revolved around the young socialites ditching their luxury lifestyles to do low-paying jobs and activities.
Some may say that the show kicked off the reality TV craze and inspired the Kardashian family’s first show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie Had a Major Fallout During ‘The Simple Life’
Before their debut on The Simple Life, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were super close. The duo grew up together in Los Angeles and attended the same schools.
Although the two seemed inseparable, things between them started to unravel two years into their reality TV show. In 2005, Hilton told PEOPLE that she and Richie were no longer friends.
“It’s no secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends,” Paris Hilton shared in a statement. “Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about it.”
Sources told the media outlet that Nicole Richie had grown jealous over the attention that Paris Hilton was receiving. One insider said that Richie had tried to get into the spotlight by throwing a party to celebrate Hitlon’s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live! However, she apparently decided to screen Hilton’s now infamous 2003 sex tape instead.
“Paris was very hurt,” the source said about the situation. “She loves Nicole but believes she is owed an apology.”
Nicole Richie’s reps denied the incident ever took place. Sources close to Nicole stated that tension between her and Paris started when Nicole started to grow out of her wild ways. She had quit drinking and was spending more time with her then-fiancé, Adam Goldstein.
Later in 2005, Nicole Richie said she would not speak to Paris Hilton if their paths crossed again. However, the following year, the duo was spotted having dinner with Nicole’s father, Lionel Richie. They settled their difference and became friends again.
Nicole Richie spoke about her friendship with Paris Hilton in 2014. She said that her The Simple Life co-star was somebody who’s been in her life since day one. Hilton said in 2019 that she loved Nicole and they were still good friends.
