Revolt, the media company Sean “Diddy” Combs founded in 2013, is responding to the recently leaked Cassie Ventura assault footage.
In leaked hotel footage, Combs, clad only in a towel, is seen grabbing, shoving, and kicking Ventura, who subsequently filed a lawsuit against him in November of last year.
Combs stepped down as CEO last year after the lawsuits from Ventura and others were filed. However, his former employees took to Instagram to issue a statement acknowledging the graphic footage.
“We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent video circulating of our former Chairman, Sean “Diddy” Combs,” the company wrote.
“Even with his recent separation from REVOLT, it is still our duty to address this matter and recognize the direct impact it has on our staff, our audience, and the culture we represent,” they continued.
“REVOLT stands in solidarity with all who have been a victim of abuse and remain committed to upholding the values and integrity our community expects from us. We vehemently stand against any form of domestic abuse and will always be a fearless advocate for truth and accountability.”
They concluded with a message of support for those who have suffered at the hands of domestic abuse.
“If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. Please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at (800) 799-7233.”
Revolt’s Statement Comes Shortly Before Diddy’s Own Apology Video Over the Cassie Ventura Assault Footage
On Sunday, May 19th, Sean “Diddy” Combs himself addressed the leaked footage of the 2016 assault on Cassie Ventura.
In a post captioned “I’m truly sorry,” the veteran rapper detailed his side of the events that unfolded in the security footage.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times of your life,” Combs admitted. “But sometimes you gotta do that. I f—- up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses.”
He added, “I take full responsibility for my actions in this video. They’re disgusting. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought professional help.”
In addition to professional therapy, Diddy called upon supernatural forces to help him not lay hands on women. “I had to ask God for his mercy and grace,” Combs said. “I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I am truly sorry.”
