Ozempic is often used for those struggling with type 2 diabetes, as it helps lower blood sugar. Some doctors will even prescribe the drug for obesity off-label since it’s not approved for weight management by the FDA. That being said, many individuals have found ways to obtain this drug for their own personal weight-loss journeys.
Keep in mind that using Ozempic for weight loss comes with many side effects and dangers, from nausea and vomiting to hypoglycemia and kidney disease.
Even so, this drug has become a popular choice for those on weight-loss missions. In fact, Rebel Wilson herself believes this drug was helpful and positive for her health.
Rebel Wilson Admits to Using Ozempic for Weight Loss
Rebel Wilson recently opened up about her weight loss journey, during which she lost around 80 pounds.
“Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good,” she said in an interview with The Sunday Times. She went on to mention that she is no longer taking the drug, but it certainly helped her with weight loss — in addition to long walks and dieting.
Wilson began her ‘year of health’ in 2020 after talking to a fertility doctor who told her she had a better chance of conception via IVF if she lost weight.
Though she is now off Ozempic, which she claimed “can be good” for weight loss journeys, many concerned fans and X users shared their opinions on the matter.
“I feel sorry for people on this drug. They have no idea what huge side effects are taking place in their bodies,” one person stated.
Another shared their own experience with the drug, which they used for diabetic purposes. “I am diabetic, and was put on Ozempic…and suffered all the side effects. Lost my job due to absenteeism, due to the health issues. Stopped taking Ozempic, but the damage has already been done. Still suffer from some of the side effects…”
