During the second episode of the Lifetime series Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up, Blanchard opened up about her time in prison, including her experimenting with her sexuality.
“A big part of womanhood is learning to become comfortable with their sexuality, and for years I wasn’t,” she explained.
“For a long time, I questioned my own sexuality because [when] I was a teenager or a pre-teen, I felt like I was attracted to girls, and I got to experiment with that in prison,” Blanchard revealed. “I think I’ve kissed more girls than I have guys.”
Blanchard served eight out of her ten-year sentence before being granted parole and released in late 2023. In July 2022, she married her estranged husband, Ryan Anderson during a prison ceremony.
Just a few months after her release, Gypsy Rose announced her separation from Ryan. It was reported that the reasoning behind the split was due to his alleged “food hoarding” and snoring behavior.
She filed for divorce in early April and filed for a restraining order against Anderson just a few days later. Anderson also filed a restraining order against Blanchard. He further claimed he was “blindsided” by the split.
Since then, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has moved on and is now dating her ex-fiancé Ken Urker. The couple originally denied any romance between them. However, in late April, things apparently changed.
“We are together and in a wonderful place in our relationship,” Gypsy Rose declared. “We know it is going to be a long road ahead but are excited for the future.”
Urker and Blanchard were engaged from 2018 to 2020.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Says the Initial Break-Up With Ken Urker ‘Devastated’ Her
Also during the second episode of her Lifetime series, Gypsy Rose Blanchard spoke about her initial break-up with Ken Urker.
Gypsy Rose reflected on the break-up when she told Anderson about Urker reaching out to her stepmom Kristy not long after her prison release. “And of course Kristy let you know about it,” Anderson responded. He later said, “Too late, buddy.”
Gypsy Rose Blanchard went on to speak about her and Urker’s break-up.
“Even though he was in the free world, and I was in prison, this was my first actual relationship that was long-term,” Blanchard shared. “Right before we were going to get married, he ended the relationship. It devastated me. I think he pretty much gave me every break-up line in the book.”
Gypsy Rose Blanchard previously opened up to PEOPLE about Urker being supportive of her amid her separation from Anderson.
“Ken was that support for me when going through this emotional hardship of crying and then being okay and then crying,” she said. “Then I let myself open up to the feelings that I’ve always had for Ken. Those feelings just don’t die.”
