On Monday, Teigen shared a series of Instagram Stories recounting how she found herself “bracing for impact” as the plane she was on abruptly decelerated from “a thousand miles an hour” to a “complete stop.”
“For like three seconds I was … absolutely positive that we were braking because we were going to hit something and we didn’t,” she recounted.
The 38-year-old model and cookbook author attributed the scare to an “erroneous takeoff,” though she confessed she wasn’t entirely sure what that entailed.
“I am so grateful for these pilots and the plane for doing what it was supposed to do,” she said through tears.
Chrissy Teigen Revealed Her ‘Worst Nightmare’ Would Be Her Final Social Media Posts Being Mundane
Teigen, who admitted that she became “very religious all of a sudden,” captioned the video with a request for her husband, John Legend, to call her.
“I’m on final destination,” she wrote in the captions, referencing the popular horror movie franchise.
Teigen didn’t disclose the airline she was flying with, but she continued sharing footage as the plane returned to the gate and prepared for another takeoff.
Meanwhile, the model informed her followers that she nearly faced her “worst nightmare”—sharing social media updates from her flight moments before potentially dying in an accident.
“All my last photos on DailyMail would be, ‘She had beer cheese. That was her last meal,’” Teigen joked. “My last words were nearly, ‘Meemaw’s beer cheese.’”
Although Teigen’s destination remains unknown, she provided a “little week recap” on Instagram just hours prior. The social media slideshow featured candid photos of her and Legend’s four children: Luna, 8, Miles, 6, Esti, 1, and Wren, 11 months.
Teigen and Legend began expanding their family in 2016, with their youngest child born via surrogate last year. Married since 2013, the couple faced a heartbreaking loss in 2020 when they lost their son Jack at 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Teigen also overshared last month when she posted images of herself wearing a neck brace.
The posts coincided with the Met Gala, which she didn’t attend. Teigen posted multiple pictures, showcasing herself wearing the white neck brace that night. She jokingly captioned one, “@ the MET!”
However, she revealed that she’d simply injured herself attempting a headstand and never intended to attend this year’s the Met Gala.
