Celine Dion is finally shedding light on her furry fashion statement that turned heads at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
At 56, the singer, who revealed her diagnosis of stiff person syndrome in 2022, graced the cover of Vogue France recently. She turned the glam up to eleven, flaunting high-fashion ensembles in a photo shoot.
In the accompanying interview, Dion opened up about her health and also took a reflective look at some of her iconic ensembles in Vogue’s “Life in Looks” video series.
The video ended with her discussing her unexpected appearance at the 2024 Grammys. She was dressed in a chic brown Valentino Haute Couture coat, draped over a pink gown, complemented by a striking silver necklace.
“It was very nerve-wracking and at the same time, a big honor,” she recalled of the experience of walking out on stage to present Taylor Swift with the Album of the Year award.
Although Dion acknowledged that the evening was quite taxing, her outfit played a role in lightening the burden.
“I was like, ‘I can walk on stage with a coat?’” Dion recalled. “’ Oh yeah, you can do whatever you want in fashion. Just have a good time. Wear that coat. Own that coat. Go for it.’”
“And it made me feel better for a moment,” she added. “To hold onto this coat, to hide myself a little bit from all these little things.”
In the Vogue video, Dion showcased her iconic talent by spontaneously performing her song “Imperfections,” capturing the essence of the moment flawlessly. “I got my own imperfections,” she crooned.

The Grammy-winning singer also recalled her hospital visit due to a seven-pound wedding headpiece adorned with over 2,000 Swarovski crystals.
“I had an immediate facelift,” she quipped. “I start to walk, and I go like, ‘Am I gonna make it? Am I going to make it to my future husband?’ But like I said, I’m going to run to you. I did. So all night, all great, people happy, but when we removed the tiara, I had a cut, because the pressure was too much.”
She believed she could manage the weight of the headpiece sewn into her head on the day, stating that happiness negates weight, problems, and pain. However, Dion paid for it the morning after.
Dion woke up with “a [bump] the size of an egg in the middle of [her] forehead.” When she saw it, she turned to her husband, humorously remarking that he was now obliged to endure her playful antics, saying, “It’s too late now. We’re married.”
“I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s go to the doctor,'” she recalled. “So I had to be on antibiotics for about three weeks.”
