Per a police report obtained by TMZ, the rapper was taken into custody and charged early Tuesday morning on allegations of driving while intoxicated, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and a distinct traffic violation.
The arresting officer also reported detecting the scent of marijuana and alcohol coming from the car.
Authorities reported that GloRilla executed a U-turn at a red light around 4 am, prompting them to pull her over. Upon questioning, she confirmed she had consumed alcohol but declined to specify the quantity. Despite this, she asserted her capability to drive safely.
The officers weren’t about to take the rapper’s explanation without a grain of salt—or a whole shaker, for that matter.
Instead, they conducted a field sobriety test, requiring her to complete several tasks: an eye-tracking exercise, the walk-and-turn, a one-leg stand, and a straight-line walking test. According to the officers, her performance was unsteady during these tests.
The report highlighted that she refused to submit to a breathalyzer test, subsequently leading to her arrest.
GloRilla Reportedly Suffered a Wardrobe Malfunction When She Was Arrested
According to TMZ, the arresting officer reported that the rapper experienced a wardrobe malfunction, resulting in her breast becoming exposed during the stop.To make matters worse, GloRilla’s brother was allegedly in the car to take in the nip-slip and see his sibling arrested.
Regardless, GloRilla’s stint in the clink was short-lived. She was incarcerated at 6:12 a.m. and subsequently released a few hours later after posting a $1,956 bond.
In 2023, the artist earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance with her track “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” which she released the previous year.
Meanwhile, GloRilla is scheduled to perform at the Atrium Health Amphitheater in Macon, Georgia, this Saturday evening. She is also slated to accompany three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion on the inaugural leg of her “Hot Girl Summer” tour beginning in May.
In March 2023, GloRilla became a topic of widespread news coverage. This followed a tragic incident where three attendees lost their lives in a stampede at her concert in Rochester, NY.
“I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show,” she wrote on X at the time. “My fans mean the world to me. [I’m] praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected,” she added.
