Patrick Mahomes’ Kermit the Frog puppet was burned while Eagles fans celebrated the win outside of city hall in Philadelphia on Sunday. The fans were also heard chanting, “F— the Chiefs.”
Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, previously slammed “disgusting” fans of Buffalo Bills fans who attended the game with a similar Kermit the Frog puppet. The puppet was seen wearing a Chiefs No. 15 jersey while hanging from a pole right before the AFC Championship game.
“Do we remember this Buffalo? Absolutely disgusting,” she wrote in an Instagram Stories post that featured the Bills’ puppet. “So as you go home tonight, I pray we become better people.”
The puppet is considered a “nod” towards Las Vegas Raiders players caught mocking Mahomes on camera.
Mahomes addressed the incident by stating, “It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”
The Chiefs beat the Raiders twice during the 2024 NFL season.
The Eagles beat the Chiefs 40-22 during Super Bowl LIX. After the game, Mahomes took to X (formerly Twitter) to speak about the Chiefs’ loss.
“Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom,” he wrote. “I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it. Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me.”
He then added, “We will be back.”
