The cause of Adam Harrison’s death, son of Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars, has been revealed a month after he passed away. TMZ reports that the 39-year-old passed away due to a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine toxicity, as confirmed by a public information officer from Clark County, Nevada. The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner concluded that the death was accidental. A comprehensive coroner’s report will be published at a future date.

However, Rick Harrison had previously hinted that his son’s death may have been caused in part by fentanyl. “The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously,” he said in a statement to TMZ in January,
In 2021, the U.S. saw 107,000 lives lost to drug overdoses, as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Opioids, like fentanyl, drive most drug overdose deaths. Over 88% of opioid-related overdose deaths include synthetic opioids, as reported by the CDC. Illicit fentanyl is now also commonly mixed with substances like methamphetamine.
How ‘Pawn Star’s Rick Harrison Paid Tribute to His Son
On January 19th, Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars revealed the passing of his son. He shared a snapshot with Adam at a restaurant on his Instagram.”You will always be in my heart! I love you, Adam,” Harrison captioned the candid image.
Corey Harrison, the elder brother of Adam, also posted a childhood picture of the two on his Instagram page. “I will always love you bubba,” he wrote alongside the image.
Of course, Rick Harrison has been the lead on the History Channel’s Pawn Stars alongside his family since 2009. The show delves into the dynamics of the family and their store, Gold & Silver Pawn, located on Las Vegas Boulevard. Adam Harrison was not a featured member of the show. However, reports suggest he did work at Gold & Silver Pawn at some point.
After his recent passing, Adam was privately laid to rest in a funeral attended by close friends and family. He is among Harrison’s three children, shared with his first wife, Kim. Unlike Harrison’s other children, Rick and Corey, not much is known about him since he did not make any appearances in Pawn Stars episodes.
In June 2018, Richard Harrison, also known as “The Old Man” and the patriarch of the family, passed away. He was 77.
