“Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,” the 44-year-old actress began in her birth announcement.
The Predator star then opened up about her experience of using a surrogate.
“I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel,” Munn explained.
“Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true,” she added.
Munn later explained the meaning behind their newborn daughter’s name. Méi (pronounced “may”) means “plum” in Chinese.
“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded,” Munn penned.
Munn, who tied the knot with Mulaney in July, shared a heartwarming photo alongside the 42-year-old comedian, cradling their daughter, Méi, in her arms. The carousel of pictures also featured a poignant family snapshot with their son, Malcolm, born in 2021.
Little Malcolm seemed ready for adventure, suited up in a cute light-up astronaut Halloween costume from Pottery Barn Kids. The family gazes out into the ocean as Munn plants a smooch on Malcolm’s cheek.
The comedian shared the birth announcement on his Instagram, but he made a few adjustments to his wife’s original caption.
“We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much,” Mulaney wrote alongside the snapshots with Méi and Malcolm.
