Refusing to put up with any disrespect, Nicki Minaj ended up getting heated towards some fans during her Detroit performance.
In a video shared by Pop Crave, Minaj was seen onstage performing her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. All of a sudden a pink item was launched at her from the crowd.
After blocking the object with her hand, Nicki Minaj stopped performing her hit track Starships and threw the object back into the audience. She then resumed the song.
The object-throwing incident comes just weeks after Nicki Minaj suffered a wardrobe malfunction during a live show. While performing at the Kia Center in Orlando, the rapper accidentally unhooked one of her yellow dress’ straps. The wardrobe malfunction exposed her entire chest.
After she quickly covered her chest with her hand and jacket, Minaj was seen mouthing, “Oh my God, my boob.”
After she was able to get a microphone, Nicki Minaj declared to the audience., “Meanwhile my boob is out and no one f—ing told me. Thanks, Barbz. My whole boob was out. See, that’s what I get for talking about people.”
Nicki Minaj Previously Told Her Fans to ‘Never Threaten Anyone’ On Her Behalf Again
Although she’s grateful for her fans, Nicki Minaj also understands boundaries. Last fall, she told fans, also known as Barbz, told fans to stop threatening others on her behalf.
“Dar Barbz, be sure to never threaten anyone on my behalf,” she declared, per Us Weekly. “Whether on the internet or in person. Whether in jest or not. I don’t [and] never have condoned that.”
Wanting fans to be focused on the positives of her music, Nicki Minaj pointed out the release of her recent album Pink Friday 2. “It feels so surreal [and] euphoric,” she said about the album.
Although Minaj didn’t reveal what sparked her to make the statement, many speculated it was due to her ongoing feud with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Even after telling the Barbz to chill out, Nicki continued to slam Megan in person and online.
During a streaming performance in Jan. 2024, Nicki Minaj called out Megan Thee Stallion for throwing people in the music industry under the bus. She then got personal by talking about the rapper’s dead mother.
“You better go conjure up your mother and apologize,” Minaj stated. “That’s disgusting.”
Megan Thee Stallion’s mother died in 2019 following a battle with brain cancer. Megan previously praised her mother for influencing her music career. “She taught me how to be the woman I am,” Megan said while accepting Glamour Woman of the Year in 2021.
