The two images are tied to the recent launch of a collaboration with producer Pharrell, titled “Doctor (Work It Out).” Originally an outtake from Cyrus’s fourth studio album Bangerz (2013), this marks her first official release of 2024 and signifies the duo’s first joint project in a decade.
The photos capture Cyrus in full dramatic flair – mouth wide open, hair cascading down her skin, all while sporting nothing but a cowboy hat decked out with an LV pin.
“Caught up with my friend @zanelowe and my big bro @pharrell to talk about our song “Doctor (Work It Out),” Cyrus captioned the images. She then hints that the cowboy hat was borrowed from Pharrell, adding, “Thanks for the LV cowgirl hat P!”

Naturally, Miley Cyrus fans are in full meltdown mode over the steamy photos and the hot new track. “This is making me emo,” one fan wrote, adding a crying emoji. “Hats off to you for the swag upgrade!”, another fan gushed. Another Miley lover pointed out the trend of pop divas sporting cowboy hats. “more cowboy hats, Madonna, Beyonce now Miley. Who is next?”, they wondered.
One old-school fan pointed out that the pictures harken back to a simpler time in Miely’s career. “The hat is giving hannah montana vibes,” the wrote, referencing Cyrus’s turn as a Disney sitcom star.
Meanwhile, Pharrell Williams, who collaborated with the former Hannah Montana star on the song “Come Get It Bae” in 2014, shared photos of Cyrus on his Instagram story. He also previewed the track on Spotify and teased part of the music video.
Cyrus proudly displayed her arm tattoos in the music video released on Thursday. She wore glamorous outfits like a sparkly minidress, a silver sequin cropped top with shorts, and a large blue fluffy jacket. The full video for “Doctor (Work It Out)” shows Cyrus singing and dancing in various settings, with close-ups of her mouth performing the new track’s lyrics.
Cyrus emphasized that the new tune is all about fun. She urged fans not to search for any hidden meaning in the lyrics. “This song is really just kind of fun,” she told Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1. “it’s not too heavy or heady or deep. That’s kind of right where I am and my nature at this moment. And so it just feels really reflective of where I’m at, and that’s really what my music always does.”
