Matthew Perry, one of the stars of the hit sitcom Friends, tragically passed away in 2023. Perry had recently purchased a home in Los Angeles, California in May 2023. Less than one year after its purchase, the home is going on the market, according to PEOPLE.
“One of Matthew Perry’s Los Angeles homes has hit the market for $5.2 million,” PEOPLE wrote.
“The late Friends star, who died at 54 in October 2023, reportedly purchased the Hollywood Hills home in an off-market deal months before his death, according to Robb Report. Property records indicate that the home was sold for $5 million in May 2023.”
Home on Market Not the Home Matthew Perry Died in
It should also be noted that this is not the same property where Perry passed away. PEOPLE notes that the actor had another home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles. And that is the home he was found in.
As for the home that is up for sale, it is just what you would expect from an actor of Perry’s caliber. The property is nearly 3,000 square feet, with a movie theater, and a pool.
“Built in 1957, the 2,800-square-foot property features three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and a central patio with a pool,” PEOPLE added.
“Matthew created a will in 2009… and he says he wants to leave a majority of his belongings to a trust,” TMZ wrote.
Actor Names Will After Noted Character
Perry’s death was indeed sudden, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Per TMZ, he created a final will in 2009. And he named a trust after Alvy Singer, one of the roles of famed actor Woody Allen.
It appears as though Perry was a big Annie Hall fan. That trust is called the “Alvy Singer Living Trust.” And all of the assets he had on hand before his passing are going into the trust.
There is another interesting wrinkle in Perry’s will. Robin Ruzan, who is the ex-wife of fellow actor Mike Myers, is one of the executors of his will.
As one of the top-paid actors in the 1990s, Perry had amassed a pretty penny in career earnings. His net worth at the time of his death was estimated at $120 million. Ruzan and another woman named Lisa Ferguson will be the decision-makers on how the will is distributed.
