The footage shows Combs wearing only a towel as he runs down the hallway of the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century, Los Angeles. After catching up with Ventura, he grabbed Ventura by the neck and slammed her to the ground. He then turns to kick her.
While Ventura is lying on the ground, Sean “Diddy” Combs is shown to be retrieving a purse and suitcase near the hallway’s elevators. He kicks Ventura twice before briefly dragging her by her sweatshirt toward a room before walking away.
Ventura slowly gets up and gathers items from the floor. She then picked up a phone on the hallway wall near the elevators.
Combs is seen returning in the camera’s focus still in a towel. He appears to then shove Ventura before sitting down and throwing a nearby object at Ventura. He then walks away from her when an elevator door opens and someone appears.
Ventura filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in November and has since reached an undisclosed settlement. She has declined to comment on the video.
In a statement on Facebook, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed that it did see the video. It also found the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office Says It Can’t Do Anything Regarding the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Alleged Hotel Assault
Although the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office did see the video, it is unable to do anything regarding the now-infamous clip.
“If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately, we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.”
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office also stated that as of Friday, May 17, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“We encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement,” the office said. “Or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services.”
The Los Angeles Police Department also told CNN that it is aware of the video. Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, released a statement to CNN.
“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cassie Ventura were in an off-and-on relationship from 2007 to 2018. In her lawsuit, she mentioned one altercation that occurred in March 2016.
In the filing, it was revealed that Diddy became “extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye.”
After he fell asleep, Ventura attempted to leave the hotel room. However, he woke up and “followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her.”
“He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape,” the complaint further revealed.
Following the ordeal, Ventura left the hotel.
