Michael Bolton is hitting pause on an upcoming concert, giving himself extra time to recover from recent brain surgery. Bolton announced on Feb.7 that he canceled his July 5 concert at London’s O2 Arena. All ticket holders will receive automatic refunds.

“You all know how much I was looking forward to this show but I am continuing to heal from surgery,” the 71-year-old posted on Instagram Stories, per PEOPLE.
“Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year. I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world,” he added.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success,” he revealed in the January 2024 Facebook post. “I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”
The “Thought I Loved You… But I Lied,” singer announced he would be taking a “temporary break” from touring. “It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.”
Michael Bolton Cancelled Several Tour Dates Last Year as He Continues to Recover
On Tuesday, October 22, he announced the cancellation of several concerts due to health concerns. He admitted he was “just not quite 100% yet.”
“It is challenging and oftentimes frustrating because I just want to be out there performing for you but I need a little more time to build back my full strength and stamina,” Bolton wrote at the time on Facebook. “My progress is good and I have been able to get a little work done on a couple exciting projects that you’ll be hearing about very soon.”
The veteran singer shared a brief year-end update alongside a festive photo with his loved ones. The post, shared on Facebook, was published on Wednesday, December 25.
“Sending warm wishes for a holiday season filled with peace, love, and joy,” he wrote alongside the post. “May the New Year bring health, happiness, and countless moments to cherish.” Adding, “Here’s to fresh starts and beautiful moments in 2024!”
Here’s hoping Bolton is on the mend and can return to the stage ASAP.
