In the video, Combs is seen chasing Ventura down the corridor of a hotel. He also dragged her by her hair and repeatedly punched and kicked her. The leak of the video led to a myriad of backlash for the Bad Boy founder. Leading to him apologizing for his actions.
“I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry,” he said in the apology.
Kim Porter’s Father Responds to Diddy, Cassie Video
However, despite his apology, many people are still questioning Diddy’s character. One of those people is Kim Porter’s father, Jake. Combs and Porter shared three children before her sudden passing in 2018.
Jake Porter, father of Kim Porter, said he was “disgusted” by what he saw in the video of Sean “Diddy” Combs and ex Cassie Ventura. He spoke with Rolling Stone last week to give his comments on the 2016 hotel video.
“You can say I was disgusted with the video, and I wouldn’t treat my enemy like that,” Jake claimed. “It was despicable. I couldn’t believe it. I was in Vietnam, and I wouldn’t do that to my enemy.”
Kim Porter famously Combs on and off from 1994 until 2007. Her father told the publication that though he never saw Combs physically abuse his late daughter, he said, “It made me wonder.”
“Didn’t know he could stoop that low. I imagine it surprised a lot of people. I wouldn’t even do a dog like that. My heart goes out to Cassie.”
Combs Stripped of Honorary Degree From Howard
Porter’s comments came moments after Howard University announced that Combs would be stripped of his honorary degree.
The historically black university released a statement on Friday saying Diddy’s “behavior as captured in a recently released video is so fundamentally incompatible with Howard University’s core values and beliefs that he is deemed no longer worthy to hold the institution’s highest honor.”
In addition, the university stated that it would also end a scholarship in his name and terminate a $1 million donation from the rapper.
“The University is unwavering in its opposition to all acts of interpersonal violence,” the statement proclaimed.
