Julia Fox recently confessed she’s been celibate for over two years — and has “never been better.”
Bumble recently created billboards promoting the relaunch of their brand. The ads read: “You know full well a vow of celibacy is not the answer. Introducing the new Bumble.”
One TikTok user took to social media to bash the campaign.
“Imagine pretending to be a Dating App FOR WOMEN and launching a million dollar ad campaign BLAMING WOMEN for a very normal reaction [to] men’s violence,” the user wrote over the slide of photos of the Bumble billboards.
In the comments section of the TikTok video, Fox, who has been open about her commitment to “decenter men,” commented on the video. “2.5 years of celibacy and never been better tbh,” she wrote.
Tons of fans rallied behind her, echoing the same sentiment. “Gosh, [as] if I didn’t think you could give me another reason [to] admire you as much as I already do,” a fan responded to her TikTok comment.
“I never knew Julia and I would have so much in common,” another wrote.
Other TikTok users tore each other apart under Fox’s comment. “Womp womp, no game,” one person responded to another, who shared she was 7 years celibate. “Thank you for removing yourself from the pool, we appreciate you.”
Another wrote, “Truly have never been happy and more peaceful in body mind and spirit. It’s wild how men destroy our peace.” To which, someone replied, “Maybe you destroy your own peace? Choose better men.”
Julia Fox Confesses She’s Celibate Amid Bumble Campaign
The women-first dating app is receiving a ton of backlash due to its latest ads, which claim that celibacy isn’t the answer. For Fox, however, celibacy really has been the answer, as she’s “never been better.”
According to Bumble, the app is embarking on “A New Era Of Bumble,” which seems to be sparking a controversy among users.
“As you might’ve already noticed, we’ve had a glow up,” Bumble states. “We’re older, bolder, and making sure you get the most out of every second you spend on our app. Our new design changes should make your experience more enjoyable and much easier to navigate—ultimately helping you to better find what you’re looking for.”
However, the TikTok video linked above has many users deleting their existing Bumble accounts and boycotting the app altogether.
“Time to humble Bumble,” one person commented.
