Kylie Kelce Reveals Husband Previously Considered Retirement
Kelce officially announced his retirement after the 2024 season ended. But the thought of hanging up his cleats crossed the mind of the Eagles’ star way before that.
Kelce starred in an Amazon Prime documentary last year that documents his life off the field. In the documentary, his wife Kylie revealed that the Pro Bowl center has considered the thought of retirement “for years”
“I don’t think that people realize the beating you’re taking then impacts the way you interact with your family,” she said.
“I always tell people, no matter what happens with football, how it ends, I would like him to retire when he is still able to get down on the floor and play with our kids comfortably.”
Jason Kelce Sounds Off on Final NFL Season
The Eagles started last season as one of the NFL’s hottest teams winning their first five games. But injuries compromised their season. They went from Super Bowl contender to getting knocked out of the first round of the playoffs. Seemingly in the blink of an eye.
Following his retirement announcement, Jason Kelce said that last season, ‘sucked’ for the Eagles. But the now former Eagles center did show optimism for the future.
“Although last season truly sucked, I wouldn’t trade my team with you or those teams for the world,” Kelce said.
“Everything happens for a reason. And I truly enjoyed my time with you coach. Sometimes, the flowers get knocked back a bit but the roots remain. And I can’t wait to watch as it re-blossoms next season.”
