Italian swimmer Ceccon won gold in the men’s 100m backstroke last week. He also got the internet simmering with lust over his model’s good looks. One X user declared him the “hottest swimmer” at the Paris games, with many agreeing.
“He definitely has a second career as a D&G model waiting for him after this”, one X user gushed after seeing a series of photos of the hunky swimmer.
However, it seems Thomas Ceccon takes to the park to get his beauty rest.
Saudi rower Husein Alireza discovered Ceccon napping on a towel in a park and shared the unusual moment on Instagram. He tagged the Olympic Village as the location of the Italian’s leisurely snooze. Of course, the footage found its way to X.
It is still uncertain whether the photograph was captured before or after Ceccon and Italy were eliminated from the men’s 4x100m medley heats.
Thomas Ceccon’s Park Nap Footage Follows His Open Criticism of Olympic Athlete’s Accommodations
Of course, this follows Ceccon and other Olympic athletes openly criticizing their sleep accommodations in Paris.
“There is no air conditioning in the village, it’s hot, the food is bad,” Ceccon whined, per The Sun. “Many athletes move for this reason: it’s not an alibi or an excuse, it’s the reality of what perhaps not everybody knows.”
“I’m disappointed that I didn’t make the final, but I was too tired. It’s hard to sleep both at night and in the afternoon. Here, I really struggle between the heat and the noise.”
Meanwhile, the beds in the Olympic Village have sparked controversy due to their discomfort and so-called ‘wokeness.’ These single beds, created by Airwave, feature cardboard frames as part of the organizers’ commitment to sustainability.
Several athletes, including the entire U.S. women’s tennis team (excluding Coco Gauff), opted to leave the village for alternative accommodations. Since their introduction in 2020, the recyclable beds have become a subject of ridicule. They are designed to support only one person, sparking jokes about their supposed “sex-proof” nature.
Team Great Britain diver Tom Daley also recently dragged the cardboard beds. In a TikTok post on Monday, July 22, Daley unveiled what he referred to as the “anti-sex” cardboard bed located in his room.
“This is cardboard,” a bemused Daley said in the footage. “As you can see, it’s like a box.”
