Halsey Reveals Cancer, Lupus Diagnosis Amid New Song
But the release of “The End” also came with a major announcement from the singing sensation. It also served as a revelation that they had been diagnosed with both cancer and lupus.
“Long story short, I’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, I wrote an album. it begins with The End. out now,” Halsey wrote in the Instagram post.
This upcoming album will be her first since departing from Capital Records last April. A decision Halsey called “bittersweet.”

Singer Connects With Hospitalized Young Fan
Halsey is known for having a special connection to their fanbase. In March, Halsey visited with a young fan named Bella Brave, who is currently battling Hirschsprung’s Disease, SCID (Severe combined immunodeficiency), and dwarfism. Bella called the visit a “dream come true.”
“From hospital stays to heartfelt conversations, meeting Halsey felt like a dream come true,” Bella said.
“We talked about hopes, dreams, travel, acting, songwriting & the power of unwavering friendship & connection. Thank you, Halsey, for being the light in Bella’s darkest days. We love you so much.”
But the meeting between Bella and Halsey seemed to be reciprocal. They said meeting Bella was the “best day ever.”
“Bella and her family have been like kindred spirits to me for so many years… I tried to play it cool, but this was the best day ever!” they said. “She’s the kind of person who [you] just think about, out of nowhere, and smile.”
