In a post on Instagram, Angie acknowledged the split between Gary and Theresa sparked a “range of emotions and opinions.” The couple had only been married for three months before calling it quits. They hadn’t even lived together yet.
“I love how invested people were in the show,” Angie pointed out about the Golden Bachelor fans. “What an experience to have you along for the ride!”
However, Angie stated it has been disheartening for her to see the level of rage and cruelty that her family has been met with since the divorce was announced.
“My Dad and Theresa are kind, good people that made this decision for them, no one else,” Angie wrote. “I kindly urge everyone to remember that behind every story, there are real people with real feelings.”
Angie went on to praise those who showed Gary, Theresa, and her family love and compassion during this difficult time. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she added.
The post featured an image that reads, “Everything always works out in the end.”
During an appearance on Good Morning America earlier this month, Turner and Nist officially announced their plans to divorce.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation – our living situation,” Gary explained. “And we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
Since the airing of their wedding, the Golden Bachelor star and his bride had been living separately. He was still at his home in Indiana while she was in New Jersey.
Gerry Turner Wanted to ‘Set Himself Up As a Hollywood Player’ With ‘Golden Bachelor’ Appearance
Although he previously stated that he wanted to meet the love of his life on the Golden Bachelor, a source claims that Gerry Turner had other goals in mind when appearing on the new reality TV series.
The insider told Life & Style Turner was focused on reality TV stardom instead of finding love.
“His real goal was to set himself up as a Hollywood player and be rich and famous,” they stated. “He never had any interest in finding a bride or in the feelings of the women he courted on the show.”
The source further pointed out that Nist was warned to marry the Golden Bachelor lead due to his history of lies and fraud. “She really loved him, but she’s been played for a fool. She must have seen the writing on the wall when Gerry refused to move in with her.”
Another insider also claimed that Turner is focused on his new role as the “villain” in the Bachelor franchise. “Gerry learned from the whole Vanderpump Rules scandal,” they said. “That’s when he set out to ride the same gravy train, and his reps are already pitching him as TV’s newest bad boy.”
