Donna Kelce recently opened up about her divorce from Jason and Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce.
The Kelce brothers’ parents divorced after 25 years of marriage. On Wednesday’s episode of The Martha Stewart Podcast, and iHeartPodcast, Donna reflected on her and Ed’s decision to separate.
“It was after the kids were out of college,” she said.” “Ed and I, we worked together as a team.”
Previously, Ed has confirmed the same story. In the Prime Video documentary Kelce, Ed said the two prioritized their children while planning to get a divorce.
“If we had split as we probably both would have preferred, that would have been a nightmare with the logistics, getting kids where they had to be and providing all the support,” he said.
Also in the documentary, Travis shared his take on his parent’s divorce.
“I knew my mom and dad’s situation was different than other parents,” he said. “I would go and have sleepovers at other houses and the other parents are staying in the same room, and my parents didn’t stay in the same room.
Additionally, he added, “I started making those connections when I was in middle school, and I realized that they were probably gonna split — but they stayed together for me and Jason’s benefit, I believe.”

Donna confessed that it would have been difficult to provide the appropriate love and support to her sons if she hadn’t had her now ex-husband by her side.
“It’s very, very difficult to raise children on your own,” she said on Wednesday’s podcast episode. “And with as active as they were, how do you do that on your own?”
Parenting two successful collegiate athletes — who eventually made it to the NFL — is not an easy feat.
“So, we decided that we would be married throughout the entire time that the kids were in the house, and that’s the way it worked out.”
