Blake Lively is in hot water with Kate Middleton supporters over a recent social media in which the actress mocked the Princess.

Middleton has been a public concern since January when Kensington Palace announced her “planned abdominal surgery.” The Princess of Wales has been recuperating at home, with just two blurry photos of her in a car emerging earlier this month.
Following the removal of a Wales family portrait on March 14 from photo agencies due to “manipulation” concerns, conspiracy theories continued to spread. Of course, Middleton eventually took the blame for this incident on X (formerly Twitter), claiming she did the alterations herself.
Recently, Blake Lively made light of the situation, using it to promote her line of beverages. On social media, she posted a satirical image of herself with the beverages which had been clearly photoshopped.
In the obviously edited photo, the backdrop seemed artificial, the beverage can looked digitally inserted into her hand, and one of Lively’s thumbs appeared disproportionately large compared to the rest of her body. Moreover, a lemon inserted into the pic floated above her noggin like a UFO.
“Sorry it’s been a min. I’ve been busy. Here’s a new photo I did today to announce our 4 new @bettybuzz & @BettyBooze products!” the Gossip Girl alum captioned the post. Since Lively used over-the-top sarcasm, most of her followers interpreted it as a thinly veiled allusion to KateGate.
Fans React to Blake Lively’s Playful Dig at Kate Middleton
Reactions to Blake Lively’s playful jab at Kate Middleton were as mixed as her boozy drinks. Many X users felt the post was cruel and a bit hypocritical.
“A woman of your stature getting laughs on the back of a really good person who made a mistake. There’s not a one of your pics released to the press or mag covers that have not been heavily manipulated,” one X user wrote.
“Your brand is so bad and you’re so desperately seeking attention that you needed to bully another woman and jump on the trolling bandwagon?”, another X user asked. “You should be ashamed of yourself,” another added.
Some Kate Middleton supporters went so far as to claim they were boycotting Blake Lively’s drinks based on the sarcastic post. “Wow Blake. You just lost this customer for good,” an offended potential customer wrote.
“There are many other products on the self to choose from,” they added. “No thanks rather buy from a woman that supports other women and doesn’t bring them down in order to capitalise on Princess Catherine,” another X user echoed.
Kim Kardashian also recently joked about teaming up with online sleuths worldwide to crack the Princess Kate Middleton mystery. “On my way to go find Kate,” the reality star and entrepreneur, captioned a recent Instagram post. The image showed Kardashian at the ready next to an SUV.
Much like Blake Lively’s ill-conceived post, Kim’s Kate Middleton dig didn’t go over very well. “Nothing like a celebrity who allegedly hates rumors, spreading rumors,” one Instagram user pointed out.
“It’s not like people from your fam [haven’t] gone into hiding (rightfully so) during pregnancy or other medical reasons,” one user added. “This caption isn’t it.”
