Billie Eilish had something of an epiphany while working on her forthcoming album: She yearned to dive into the female anatomy.

“I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina,” she told Rolling Stone in a new interview.
The 22-year-old Oscar-winning artist opened up about her journey of self-discovery regarding her sexuality in the in-depth interview published on April 24.
Discussing her new song “Lunch” from her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, Eilish shared that composing the song—a metaphor comparing sex with a woman to enjoying a meal—deepened her understanding of her own sexual orientation.
“That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real,” Eilish explained. “I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after.”
Eilish also spoke openly about her views on sex, describing it as her preferred method of relaxation.
“I basically talk about sex any time I possibly can. That’s literally my favorite topic,” she admits. “My experience as a woman has been that it’s seen in such a weird way. People are so uncomfortable talking about it, and weirded out when women are very comfortable in their sexuality and communicative in it.”
“I think it’s such a frowned-upon thing to talk about, and I think that should change. You asked me what I do to decompress? That s–t can really, really save you sometimes, just saying. Can’t recommend it more, to be real.”
Billie Eilish is Also All About Self Love. Like, REALLY All About It.
Meanwhile, Billie Eilish also opened up about her favorite method for boosting her self-esteem: masturbating in front of a mirror. You know, that old chestnut.
She described self-love as an “enormous, enormous part of my life, and a huge, huge help for me. People should be jerking it, man. I can’t stress it enough, as somebody with extreme body issues and dysmorphia that I’ve had my entire life.”
Eilish detailed that she appreciates masturbating in front of a mirror. For her, it fosters a profound and authentic connection with her own body and self.
“I got to say, looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking ‘I look really good right now’ is so helpful. You can manufacture the situation you’re in to make sure you look good. You can make the light super dim, you can be in a specific outfit or in a specific position that’s more flattering.”
“I have learned that looking at myself and watching myself feel pleasure has been an extreme help in loving myself and accepting myself, and feeling empowered and comfortable.”
Sexual exploration aside, the music mag did ask the hitmaker about her upcoming album. The interview delved into Eilish’s third album, marking a resurgence of the darker tones from her 2019 effort, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
The album, titled Hit Me Hard and Soft (there MIGHT be sexual overtones there, call us crazy…) is set to be released on May 17.
