Former NFL player Antonio Brown is shedding light on his bizarre one-sided social media beef with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

It started when Brown tweeted a series of weird posts about Clark on social media. The posts mostly included baffling pop culture references and eye-roll-inducing sexual innuendo. This led to a probably bemused Clark blocking the former Pittsburgh Steeler.
Despite getting blocked, AB attempted to keep the attention the one-sided flame war was getting him. Brown called Clark “Cracker of the Day” alongside a screenshot of her blocking him.
On Tuesday, Brown directly addressed the peculiar behavior during an interview with Jason Whitlock.
“Caitlin Clark, we love you. There’s no drama here. I’m excited about what you’re gonna do for women’s basketball,” Brown explained, “You’re an amazing player. I love to watch your game and you bring a lot of excitement and energy.”
AB goes on to vastly overstate his current relevance to the sports world.
“When people like me in the media bring an awareness to you, maybe in the wrong or the right, it’s all in positivity. It’s all fun and games. Continue to be great. Continue to keep focused on being the best athlete you want to be. Continue to lead women’s sports,” Brown added.
After the seemingly sincere explanation, AB undercut the proceedings with an off-color sexual joke at Clark’s expense.
Social Media Roasts Antonio Brown For His Caitlin Clark Comments Explanation
Mostly bemused comments flooded X (formerly Twitter) when footage of Antonio Brown explaining his comments toward Caitlin Clark hit the social media platform. Many sports fans simply believe Brown is in desperate need of relevance.
“So some guy I never heard of may or may not have something to say about Caitlin Clark,” one fan quipped. “Don’t both sides have to engage to qualify as a beef?”, a second fan pointed out.
However, one fan offered up a possible explanation for AB’s bizarre behavior. “I say this to everyone…dude hasn’t been right since [Burfict] laid him out years ago,” another fan wrote.
Of course, the X denizen is referring to a blow Brown took from Vontaze Burfict in a 2016 game between the Steelers and Bengals. Indeed, the hit Brown took is one of the most vicious helmet-to-helmet clashes caught on tape.
However, other fans insist that Brown has always been a character and something of a diva. “Nah, he was kinda…like this…even before the [Burfict] hit,” an NFL fan noted.
Clark is set to make her debut in the WNBA regular season on Tuesday, May 14th, facing off against the Connecticut Sun. AB will no doubt weigh in and embarrass himself again.
