At Adele’s Saturday night concert at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, she did her usual banter with the audience between songs. Amidst this, a heckler interrupted by shouting, “Pride sucks!”
“What was that? Did you just say, ‘Pride sucks?’” Adele said, shown in footage that made its way to X (formerly Twitter). “Did you come to my f–king show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f–king stupid? Don’t be so f–king ridiculous.”
She added, “If you got nothing nice to say, shut up, all right?”
Of course, Adele fans loved the clip of the pop star sticking up for Pride Month.
“I love Adele! We need more people with guts to call out stupidity like she does,” one fan wrote. “PRIDE is beautiful. Always was,” another X denizen added. “Love this, love her,” a third fan chimed in.
Adele Proudly Supported Pride Month in the Past
Saturday marked the beginning of Pride Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ community. It is often characterized by vibrant parades and parties, as well as political rallies and marches that spotlight ongoing issues of inequality.
Adele has long been a staunch advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Last year, she memorably marked Pride Month during her residency, donning a black dress adorned with a rainbow flag train and showering the audience with Pride-themed confetti.
Meanehile, the popular pop-soul singer has never shied away from addressing audience behavior. In July last year, Adele boldly challenged fans to “throw something” at her, highlighting a disturbing trend where fans hurl objects at performers, often causing hits and injuries.
“Have you noticed how people are, like, forgetting f—ing show etiquette in America? They’re just throwing s— onstage. Have you seen that?” she asked the audience, per NBC News.
“Weekends With Adele,” hosted at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, marks the 36-year-old English singer’s debut concert residency. The series began in November 2022 and is scheduled to conclude in November this year.
Earlier this year, Adele postponed several dates in her residency due to medical advice regarding a recurring health issue. This follows a previous delay in 2022, attributed to challenges related to Covid-19.
The singer also recently revealed plans to have another baby once the residency wraps.
