Multi-platinum rapper 50 Cent came under fire earlier this year when his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy, made serious allegations against him. In an Instagram post on March 28, Joy accused 50 of sexually assaulting and abusing her.

“Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor. And my God will handle you from this point on,” she said in the post.
50 Cent Suing Ex For Defamation
Now 50 Cent is trying to clear his name… as well as Daphne’s bank account. According to TMZ, he is suing his ex for defamation over the assault allegations.Â
“50 Cent’s through trolling his ex, now he’s brought lawyers into it, and he’s suing Daphne Joy for publicly accusing him of rape and physical abuse,” TMZ wrote.
“In docs filed Monday, and obtained by TMZ, 50 blasts Daphne for her Instagram post. [On] March 28, she made the allegation behind his lawsuit. And he says she only did it because it came out that he was going to seek sole custody of their son, Sire.”
The rapper’s lawyers also released a statement noting that Joy was given ample time to retract her statement. And after refusing to do so, 50 is now taking her to court.
“Despite being given ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation, Ms. Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a ‘rapist,” the rapper’s attorneys said in a statement.
Rapper’s Attorney Believes Diddy is Behind Allegations
The rapper’s lawyers also say that Daphne’s relationship with Diddy is the motivation behind these claims. They also believe he is “underwriting,” her attacks on 50.
“The motivation behind this appears to be Ms. Narvaez’s unfortunate entanglement and misguided loyalty to Mr. Combs, who we believe to be underwriting this attack and whom Mr. Jackson has been warning Ms. Narvaez and others about for many years,” they added.
50 has been mercilessly trolling Diddy on social media since his house was raided by the FBI and Homeland Security on March 25. He is a person of interest in an ongoing sex trafficking investigation.
