The professional wrestler, who was in the Big Apple for WWE’s Monday Night Raw at Barclays Center, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that she and a friend were planning to grab some drinks at The Plaza Hotel’s Champagne just before attending a Broadway show on Tuesday.
However, the evening took a bad and awkward turn. Green stated she was kicked out of the hotel after being accused of having a profession she didn’t have.
“Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life,” she wrote. “And the next you’re getting kicked out of [Fairmont Hotels] and accused of being an escort because of your outfit.”
Also in the post, Chelsea Green shared an image of the outfit she was wearing that night. “Life is funny! Maybe next year I won’t celebrate Wrestlemania weekend at The Plaza Hotel LOL…”
Green’s followers took to X to share their thoughts about the situation and her ensemble. “This is mostly likely the realistic time to call a manager,” one follower stated. “I mean, the cheek and nerve.”
Another follower pointed out that her profession shouldn’t have mattered. “If you had a room, why would it even matter what your job is,” they wrote. “I mean even if they were right, why would they kick someone out for being an escort.”
Chelsea Green Recalls Uncomfortable Encounter With The Plaza’s Security Guards
TMZ Sports contacted Chelsea Green about the incident. She told the media outlet she and her friend were at The Plaza’s Champagne Bar around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday when they were told to leave.
The original excuse from the hotel staff was that she and her friend were not guests. However, TMZ did confirm with the hotel that the Champagne Bar is open to the public. But Green’s story didn’t end just with her and her friend leaving the restaurant.
Chelsea Green recalled that after she and her pal walked by security, staff members became irate and screamed at them. She remembered the staff stating, “Get back here. We aren’t playing your games. We know what you’re doing here.”
After becoming upset and embarrassed by the ordeal, Green encountered three other security guards as she made her way out of the hotel. When she asked to speak to the hotel manager, the security guards allegedly laughed at her.
Eventually, she and her friend were finally able to leave the hotel. She told TMZ Sports that she’s confident the establishment will review surveillance football and figure out she didn’t do anything to deserve the treatment she received.
Although she hasn’t offered any updates about the incident, Green shared a Pretty Woman gif and wrote, “Me for the rest of the week.”
