Kelly Clarkson is putting “hater” rumors to rest after being accused of dissing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship.
Recently, Kelly Clarkson made some remarks about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance. The remarks, while seemingly innocent, were taken out of context by die-hard Swift fans.
To clear the air, Clarkson took to Instagram on Saturday after reports that she “bashed” the NFL’s coverage of Swift and Kelce.
The post read, “Just a quick public service announcement everybody since this seems to be breaking news,” Clarkson wrote. “Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again. I did not bash anyone’s romance.”
She continued, “I am pro romance. Yay romance. Did y’all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. Okay, carry on, and GO COWBOYS!”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Clarkson’s post followed Bowen Yang’s appearance on her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. During the episode, Clarkson acknowledged Saturday Night Live’s coverage of the Taylor-Travis saga, saying she found the sketch “hilarious.”
“It’s not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now. It’s like you’re watching Housewives while you’re watching,” Clarkson commented.
Other Celebs Weigh In On Taylor And Travis’ Romance
Wilde took to Instagram to share a screenshot of a tweet reading, “I wish Taylor Swift was in love with a climate scientist,” and Swifties weren’t too happy.
Taylor Swift’s dedicated fan base was quick to respond to Wilde’s tweet, pointing out her past relationship with Harry Styles, who has also dated Taylor Swift. Other fans chimed in to highlight the humorous side of the situation, noting that while they understood the sentiment behind Wilde’s tweet, they also questioned her authority on the matter, saying, “I get it but like also… who is Olivia Wilde to say s—t. I don’t remember Harry Styles restoring the ozone when they were dating.”
Long story short—don’t mock T-T’s relationship unless you want to get called out by Swift’s fierce fan base.
