The actor’s big sister, Javiera Balmaceda Pascal, is an executive at Amazon Studios with an Oscar nod under her belt! His younger sister, Lux Pascal, boasts over 200,000 Instagram followers and has appeared in television series like Juana Brava.
Meanwhile, little brother Nicolás Balmaceda Pascal decided saving lives beat the red carpet any day, skipping Hollywood for scrubs instead.
Pedro, along with his siblings, was born in Santiago, Chile, to Verónica Pascal and José Balmaceda. Their parents were part of the opposition against Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.
The family later moved to Denmark, then San Antonio, Texas, before finally settling in Orange County, California, where Pedro grew up. Lux and Nicolás eventually returned to Chile with their parents.
Javiera Balmaceda Pascal, Pedro’s Studio Exec Sibling
Pedro’s sister, Javiera Balmaceda Pascal, holds the position of Head of Local Originals for Spanish-speaking Latin America at Amazon Studios.
She played a pivotal role in the production of the legal drama film Argentina, 1985, which received a nomination for Best International Feature at the 2023 Oscars. Pedro and Javeria attended that year’s Academy Awards together.
Throughout her career, Javiera has played a key role in the creation of series such as Maradona: Sueño Bendito, La Jauría, and El Presidente. Prior to her television career, Javiera worked as an investment banker in Chile.
Nicolás, unlike his siblings, lives a life away from Hollywood. Pedro, in a 2019 Instagram post, warmly introduced his brother through a candid photo and a heartfelt caption.
“This is my brother, Nicolas,” Pedro wrote alongside the snapshot. “He’s getting his PHD in pediatric neurology. He hates attention and he loves doing good. It’s his birthday. To punish him for being younger, smarter, and more handsome I thought I would announce this to the world.”
Pedro Pascal often refers to Nicolás as “Dr. Guapo” (Dr. Handsome) on his social media posts concerning his beloved kid brother.
Pedro’s Fellow Actor Sibling, Lux Pascal
While in Chile, Lux completed her BFA in acting at Pontificia Universidad Católica’s conservatory. She later relocated to New York City, where she pursued her studies at The Juilliard School and obtained an MFA in acting in May 2023.
Lux got to star alongside Pedro in the Netflix series Narcos. Additionally, she has taken on roles in the Spanish show La Jauría and the Chilean drama Los 80.
In 2021, she made her transgender identity public through an interview with the Spanish-language magazine Ya. Of course, Pedro Pascal fully supported his sibling.
“When I officially told him about my transition through FaceTime, he asked me how I felt because I remember that he was worried,” Lux explained the outlet at the time. “I told him: ‘I’m happy.’ And his answer was: ‘Perfect, this is incredible.’”
