Coming into last season, Kelce was already one of the highest-paid players in the NFL on a 4-year, $57-million dollar deal. After winning another Super Bowl in 2024, the Chiefs front office has upped the ante. Kansas City has signed Kelce to an extension that will make him the highest-paid player in the NFL.

Travis Kelce Inks Historic Deal With Chiefs
“No more Champagne Problems. The Chiefs and All-Pro and Pro Bowl TE Travis Kelce have agreed to terms on a new 2-year contract extension to make him the NFL’s highest-paid tight end, sources say,” NFL Network Insider Ian Rapaport Tweeted on April 2. “The deal was done by his long-time agent Mike Simon.”
The Chiefs have already acquired three Super Bowl titles in the Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce era. And next season they could become the first franchise to ever three-peat after winning back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
Mahomes already restructured his contract during the offseason to allow the Chiefs to acquire more talent. And now after locking in Kelce for an additional two years with his new contract, Kansas City could be in a prime position to solidify themselves as a dynasty.
Chiefs Star Fawns Over New Gig
The wins continue to pile up for the All-Pro tight end. There had been rumors that Kelce would take on a new role as a game show host. On April 16 he confirmed that he will be the new host of “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity.”
“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with Are you Smarter than a Celebrity?,” the Chiefs’ star said in a statement.
“The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining.”
The three-time Super Bowl winner also joked that the best part of hosting the upcoming game show is the fact that he is not a contestant.
