The insiders shared with Page Six that he was “very concerned” about the situation. However, the NFL star does not have any plans to head to Europe to be with the “Look What You Made Me Do” hitmaker.
While Taylor Swift is in Europe for her Eras Tour shows, Travis Kelce is preparing for the 2024 NFL season with his team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The season is set to start at the beginning of September.
Last week, multiple suspects were apprehended in connection to a suspected terrorist plot. The event was planned to take place at Swift’s Vienna shows. Franz Ruf, the Director-General for Public Safety at the Ministry of the Interior revealed that the suspects were radicalized online. He mentioned that one of the suspects allegedly pledged allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State in early July.
Unfortunately, due to the situation, Taylor was to cancel the three Vienna shows. Barracuda Music, the promoter of Swift’s concerts in Austria, released a statement on the canceled shows on social media.
“With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” Barracuda stated.
Taylor Swift Was ‘Completely Terrified’ to Tour Following Ariana Grande’s Manchester Show Shooting
During a 2019 interview with ELLE, Taylor Swift admitted that she was “completely terrified” of touring. This was after the shooting at Ariana Grande’s Manchester, England performance.
“After the Manchester Arena bombing and the Vegas concert shooting, I was completely terrified to go on tour this time,” Swift stated. “Because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months.”
She also referenced the shooting during Jason Aldean’s performance at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. “There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe,” she pointed out.
She further explained that her fear of violence continues into her personal life. “I carry QuikClot army-grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds. Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I’ve ever had online. You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things.”
“Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I’ve witnessed,” she added. “And the faith I have in humanity. We have to live bravely in order to truly feel alive, and that means not being ruled by our greatest fears.”
