Travis Kelce recently spoke about his new hosting gig, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, stating that he “always felt comfortable with the camera on [him].”
NFL star Travis Kelce shared with Extra that he not only feels “comfortable” with all the attention he and girlfriend Taylor Swift are receiving, but he also is thriving in his new role as host of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?
“I think it was all the home videos my mom used to have with the old camcorder, the handheld joint, at the house,” Kelce said. “I just always felt comfortable with the camera on me and the lights on me. Sure enough, I love a good challenge. I get excited for a challenge.”
Travis has also previously mentioned that he “grew up loving game shows.” He’s now “excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons.”
As the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis likely feels used to all the attention he receives. After all, he is dating one of the most famous pop stars alive.
Travis Kelce’s New Hosting Gig
Travis Kelce will host the new show, Are You Smart Than a Celebrity? The game show is a spinoff of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
The football star has experience in reality TV, as he previously was the star of Catching Kelce, a reality dating show. He also previously hosted Saturday Night Live and currently co-hosts his podcast, New Heights.
However, when discussing his new role, he mentioned it’s “something that I haven’t done before.” He seems excited by the opportunity, though he mentioned his heart is still on the football field.
According to Amazon Prime, “Each episode, or ‘game,’ [of Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?] will welcome an adult contestant who will rely on a classroom full of celebrities from stage, screen, and sports to help them answer 11 questions on a range of topics, pulled from elementary curriculum, in an effort to win a $100,000 prize.” Currently, there is no release date for the show.
