Super Bowl champion, boyfriend of legendary musician, and now famous actor in Grotesquerie — Travis Kelce apparently does it all.
Kelce recently scored a role in Ryan Murphy’s FX series Grotesquerie, marking his first major acting gig.
According to Deadline, sources say the NFL star “has been cast opposite Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville in the upcoming series, which has just started production.”
Back in February, Ryan Murphy Productions and FX shared a mysterious promo for the new series. The teaser included a voiceover by Nash-Betts, in which she says:
“I don’t know what’s started. I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s different now,” she says, her voice muffled as though she was leaving a voicemail. “There’s been a shift. It’s like something’s opening up in the world. A kind of hole to the center of nothingness. What I saw today … they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene.
“You say, ‘Well, hon, evil has always existed,’ and cite some statistic about how the world’s getting better, less murder, more help, less global horror, never been a better time to be alive, hon,” she continues. “Come back. It’s not getting better. And I keep needing to hear your answers, because something’s happening around us, and nobody sees … but me.”
Travis Kelce to Star in Ryan Murphy’s New FX Series ‘Grotesquerie’
Kelce is set to star in the new FX Series Grotesquerie, which is anticipating a fall release. In fact, Nash-Betts confirmed Kelce’s part in the series by sharing a video on Instagram on May 7.
“Guys…” she starts, appearing solo in the video. “Guess who I am working with on Grostequerie?”
She then pans out to include Kelce, who smiles and says, “Coming into new territory!”
“This is what happens when WINNERS link up!! @killatrav Welcome to Grostequerie!” she captioned the post.
Previously, Kelce has starred in Saturday Night Live, an episode of Moonbase 8, and a reality dating show called Catching Kelce. That being said, Grotesquerie will be his first major acting role.
