In a heartfelt statement, Janice’s family expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming love and support they had received during the challenging months. They shared that Catherine peacefully died that morning in her childhood home. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
The family acknowledged the unexpected success of Cat’s music. Especially her viral track “Dance You Outta My Head” on TikTok. They expressed their appreciation for the positive impact it would have on her 7-year-old son, Loren.

Just two weeks before her passing, Janice celebrated the achievement of becoming a Top 40 Billboard charting artist. Her song “Dance You Outta My Head” reached No. 11 on the Hot Dance/Electronic chart on Digital Sales.
Janice initially disclosed her cancer diagnosis in 2021, overcoming it with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation to be declared cancer-free in July 2022. However, she recently shared the heartbreaking news that the cancer had reemerged, leading her to enter hospice care after facing severe respiratory challenges in the ICU.
In a touching TikTok video, Janice conveyed her desire for her final song to bring joy and fun to her fans, expressing regret that lung cancer had taken away her ability to speak. She urged her supporters to pre-save her last song, thanking them for their love and expressing hope that they would cherish the music.
