Miley Cyrus rocked the red carpet for SNL‘s 50th anniversary, serving up a head-to-toe leather look tighter than the show’s punchlines. The 32-year-old was one of many celebrities who attended and performed at New York City’s SNL50: Homecoming Concert on Friday.

Before the concert, Cyrus appeared on the red carpet wearing an elegant all-black leather gown. The dress featured intricate cut-out details on the bodice and legs, many shaped like wings, giving it a bold and edgy look.
A chiffon train added a soft, romantic touch to the look, paired perfectly with stylish Paris Texas heels. Cyrus wore her hair in loose, messy waves and paired the look with bold smoky-eye makeup.

Cyrus later took the stage (in a new outfit) to play her hit “Flowers” at the SNL celebration.
Of course, Cyrus is no stranger to Saturday Night Live. Per the show’s website, the singer has hosted the show three times, first taking the stage on March 5, 2011, during Season 36. She later returned as both host and musical guest on October 5, 2013, and October 3, 2015. In addition to her hosting duties, Cyrus delivered a memorable performance of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” during the show’s 40th anniversary special in February 2015.
She has appeared as the musical guest four times: first in 2017, then in 2018 alongside Mark Ronson, followed by 2020, and most recently in 2021.
Miley Cyrus Paid Tribute to SinĂ©ad O’Connor with ‘SNL50’ Performance
Meanwhile, Cyrus joined Brittany Howard on Sunday night to pay tribute to Sinéad O’Connor during the SNL50: The Anniversary Special.
The duo, who had also taken the stage during the SNL concert special just two nights earlier, returned to perform Prince’s iconic song, “Nothing Compares 2 U” in tribute to SinĂ©ad O’Connor. Originally written in 1985, the track gained worldwide fame when O’Connor recorded it for her acclaimed 1990 album, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got.

In 1992, Sinead O’Connor performed Bob Marley’s “War” on SNL and tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II, declaring, “Fight the real enemy.” She later explained it was a protest against sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.
She was subsequently banned from Saturday Night Live, ridiculed in future sketches, and criticized by the following week’s host, Joe Pesci.
O’Connor passed away in 2023. Meanwhile, the SNL50: The Anniversary Special is streaming on Peacock.
