While recently appearing on the Fly on the Wall podcast, Corbett revealed he wished he was either a screenwriter or a producer instead of an actor. “Look, I’m in the fourth quarter of the football game now, in life and in showbiz. It’s just a fact,” he explained.
Corbett also shared, “So I can reveal now I picked the f—ing wrong thing to do with my life. I picked something to do with my whole life for my fulfillment of my work life, which is, ‘Dude, stand here, say this, put this on, look this way, say it faster, cut your hair like this.’”
“Have you ever sat in a f—ing waiting room of a doctor’s office for like an hour and been like, ‘What the f—?'” he then asked. “For me, that’s what making a movie is like, because I’m not part of any creative process.”
The comments by her costar didn’t sit well with Sarah Jessica Parker. Sources close to the actress revealed to National Enquirer she was actually offended. “Sarah Jessica finds John’s comments deeply insulting to the entire crew, cast, writers, and producers of the show,” the insider said. “That made him a household name and pays his bills.”
The insider pointed out, “There are a million actors who would give their left arm to have the career John has. To have given him the opportunity, not to mention the money, and then have it thrown back in your face is terrible!”
This Isn’t the First Time the ‘Sex in the City’ Costar Has Upset Sarah Jessica Parker
Meanwhile, sources pointed out that this wasn’t the first that this costar has upset Sarah Jessica Parker. Corbett previously gossiped about Sex in the City being rebooted without original cast member Kim Cattrall.
“Sarah Jessica is very protective of Carrie Bradshaw and the entire show,” the insiders shared. “You have to remember, she isn’t just the star of the series — she’s also the executive producer. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!”
Cattrall and Parker have a very public rift, with Cattrall stating she was “never friends” with Parker. “We’ve been colleagues and in some ways, it’s a very healthy place to be,” Cattrall stated in 2017. “Because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal.”
Sarah Jessica Parker had spoken about the remark in 2018. “We had this experience and it was amazing, and nothing will ever be like it,” she told PEOPLE. “There was no fight; it was completely fabricated because I actually never responded. And I won’t, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege.”
In 2022, Cattrall confirmed she was never asked to be in the Sex in the City reboot. “The greatest compliment I could have as an actor is to be missed,” she said. Cattrall also said “no” when asked if she would ever return to her Sex in the City role. However, she did briefly return for the show’s second season finale.
