While performing to a big crowd, the pyrotechnics went off behind her, seemingly scaring the musician. As sparks flew, she ran off the stage while screaming. Her dancers followed her.
Sabrina Carpenter Pyro Freakout Goes Viral
However, she quickly got back on stage and performed.
Along with the pyro moment, Sabrina did a surprise duet of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’” With Kacey Musgraves.
“There’s an artist that I’ve just loved for my entire life, and she is just so remarkable in so many ways,” Carpenter shared on stage. “And her voice has just taken me through so much of my life in so many pivotal moments, and she means the world to me,” the singer continued. “And somehow she cleared her schedule to be here with us tonight.”
Following the performance, Sabrina Carpenter took to her Instagram to gush about the evening. “Thank you to everyone who came. Special thank you to the angel that is @spaceykacey for coming out to sing and dance to Nancy Sinatra with me,” she wrote. “And thank you to my whole team and crew. all the talented people who made this show happen on and off stage, I love you all so much.”
Musgraves also shared a sweet post about Carpenter. “We were working late ‘cause we are singers,” she wrote on Instagram. “Last night was a short n sweet little dream 🫧🤍 ily @sabrinacarpenter. Thanks for having meeee.”
Carpenter is next set to kick off her Short ‘n’ Sweet headlining tour in North America next month. Her first stop is in Columbus, Ohio. Other stops include Toronto, New York City, Chicago, Nashville, and Orlando. She will conclude her tour in Los Angeles on Nov. 15.
Fans Grew Concerned For Carpenter Following Firework Incident
After the video of her firework run-off stage moment went viral, fans grew concerned for Sabrina Carpenter.
“Sabrina girl are you okay? you scared us with your screams at the end of the show with the pyrotechnics,” one fan asked her on Instagram.
Another fan pointed out, “Our Polly Pocket was NOT prepared for the pyro and fireworks at the end of the show.”
Sabrina Carpenter has not publicly acknowledged the situation. However, fans did point out that the key issue was more than likely a firework coming too close to her chest.
