After years of estrangement, Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly hoping to reconcile with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, it is allegedly for a heartbreaking reason.
Sources close to the Prince and Princess of Wales revealed to Us Weekly that Harry and William have not had a real conversation in months. The insider was hopeful that Harry’s recent visit to London would have served as an “olive branch” between them.
“The brothers haven’t spoken, [but] there is potential for that,” a second source said. The first source noted both brothers were open to seeing each other.
The years of tension between the brothers started when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their senior royal duties in 2020. Harry then caused a bigger rift with his royal relatives when he accused them of not protecting Markle from public scrutiny.
Prince Harry also claimed in his memoir, Spare, that he and William had a physical fight over Markle.
However, since battling cancer, Kate Middleton was “willing” to speak to Prince Harry while he was in town. The Princess of Wales is reportedly “done with all bad blood.”
Why Prince William and Kate Middleton Want to Settle Their Differences With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Since Kate Middleton publicly announced her cancer diagnosis, she and Prince William are now ready to settle their differences with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The key reason is for their children.
The Prince and Princess of Wales allegedly want their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to have a connection with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“They want a relationship with Meghan and Harry,” one of the insiders stated. “And they don’t want the acrimony to carry over to the next generation.”
The other source also stated that Prince William and Kate Middleton want to “mend fences” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for the royal children’s sake. “Obviously, the duke and duchess want their kids to have a relationship with their cousins.”
King Charles III, who is also battling cancer, also reportedly wants his sons to settle their differences as well. “[He] always wanted William and Harry to make amends,” a third source stated.
Unfortunately, despite the hopes for a reconciliation, Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as King Charles III, were unable to meet with Prince Harry while he was in London. All three royals, as well as the other senior royals, were reportedly too busy to see Harry, who was in London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
Although he didn’t get to see his brother, sister-in-law, and father, Harry did get a chance to see Princess Diana’s family, the Spencers.
