It’s something that Kate herself made part of her fashion choices, according to Mirror. Kate herself wasn’t there for the big day as she’s still privately undergoing cancer treatments. However, she made sure her husband knew that he was loved. King Charles appointed William as the new Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. Many see it as a snub to William’s brother Prince Harry.
William’s children also got a wooded helicopter, a nod to their father’s time in the Royal Air Force as a search and rescue pilot. Kate still hasn’t returned to ryal duties since her cancer announcement. It’s been a difficult time for the family.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London,” Middleton previously announced. “And at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful.”
She said that doctors learned that it was cancerous. “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy,” she continued. “And I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
William and Harry’s Relationship
Meanwhile, William and Harry appear to be at odds. Prince William’s new appointment comes as a snub to his brother. William is known in control of his brother’s former regiment in the military.
Harry served two tours with them up until 2014. The ceremony also comes after Harry visited the United Kingdom but did not meet with his father or brother while there. Harry and his wife Meghan Markle fractured their relationships with the family when they stepped down in 2020.
They later publicly talked about the family in interviews. Reporter Jennie Bond speculates that William and Harry aren’t on good terms and probably won’t ever be again.
Bond told OK!, “I think we have to give up hope that the rift between the brothers will be healed at any time in the near future, or indeed ever. William’s head and heart must be bursting with all that he has on his plate right now: his wife’s cancer treatment, his father’s illness, his children growing up fast, the pressure for him to take on more royal duties, the prospect of becoming King earlier than he might ever have wanted.
