During the Lifetime docuseries, The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, former LAPD officer Spencer Marks spoke about answering a call from Nicole after her ex confronted her after seeing her with another man. The incident occurred after Nicole filed for divorce from O.J.
Nicole reportedly called 9-1-1 that evening because O.J. had been spying on her. He saw her kissing the man she was dating on the time on the couch through a large window of her Brentwood condo.
Upon arriving at Nicole Brown Simpson’s home, Marks said she told him about the ongoing problems she had with O.J. spying on her. She also said something that completely shocked him.
“And then she said, ‘I know for a fact he’s going to murder me one day,’” he recalled. “That sort of took me by surprise. If you know he’s going to murder you one day then how do we prevent that? We need to keep you away from him.”
However, Marks said that Nicole seemed “poo-pooed” about the situation. She also refused any help with keeping her away from her ex. “[She] said, ‘Well, you know, we’re trying to work on things. So, you know, it’s what we have to do.’”
This wasn’t the first time that Nicole Brown Simpson called the authorities on O.J., nor was it the first time she spoke out about the abuse she endured by the famed athlete being her demise.
In her diary, Brown Simpson wrote about O.J.’s abuse She stated that he had once chased her around their Rockingham estate and beat her on a bed until the police arrived. This event happened on the New Year’s Eve before their divorce.
A Detective Testified That Nicole Brown Simpson Stated O.J. Was Going to Kill Her
During O.J.’s criminal trial over the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, LAPD detective John Edwards recalled going to the Rockingham estate during the New Year’s Eve assault.
“She collapsed and started yelling, ‘He’s going to kill me, he’s going to kill me,’” Edwards stated. He also pointed out that Nicole had a one-inch cut on her upper lip, a swollen right forehead, a black eye, and a hand imprint on her throat.
After taking her to the police station to take pictures of the injuries, Edwards said she requested to return to O.J.’s estate.
A couple of years later, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were brutally murdered outside her Brentwood condo. Despite the evidence of violence towards Nicole, O.J. was famously acquitted of murder.
He was later found liable for Nicole and Ron’s deaths during a 1997 civil lawsuit. He was ordered to pay the Brown and Goldman families $33.5 million.
O.J. Simpson died on April 10 of this year at the age of 76. He never paid the families.
