The 43-year-old has previously shared that she struggled with suicidal thoughts during her time as a royal in the UK. She revisited this difficult experience in a CBS interview earlier this month.
“If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone or encourage someone in their life to really, genuinely check in on them and not assume that the appearance is good so everything is OK, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that,” she said at the time.
Now insiders indicate that the actress intends to share more when the time is right.
“The talk among their friends is that it’s time to take the gloves off. [To] do away with the diplomacy,” an alleged insider told Closer.
“There’s so much demand for Meghan to speak out. Whether that’s in the form of another sit-down interview or even her own memoir. She has the potential to make an absolute fortune and clear up a lot of questions,” the source added.
Meghan Markle’s Possible Memoir Might Have Been a Recent Royal Snub
The insider revealed that the royal family’s choice to exclude the Sussexes from this year’s summer retreat at Balmoral has ignited Markle’s strong desire to pursue the memoir. While the source asserts that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were “not shocked” by their exclusion from the gathering, it was undoubtedly unwelcome news.
“They’re now forced to figure out a strategy to fight back. One option on the table is to go all-out. [To write] a big tell-all from Meghan where she completely lays out her side of the story,” the source detailed.
Of course, Meghan Markle writing a memoir side eying the royal family isn’t without precedent. Her husband Harry’s memoir, Spare, dropped in January 2023.
The incendiary book, which thoroughly explored the duke’s time at the Firm, became the fastest-selling nonfiction title in history. In 2021, the Sussexes secured a lucrative four-book deal with Penguin Random House.
If the rumors are accurate, this wouldn’t be Markle’s first foray into writing. She made her debut as a published author in 2021 with the release of her children’s book, The Bench.
Since then, Markle launched a now-defunct podcast called “Archetypes”. She is set to introduce her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which is still in the works.
