Hoping that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will soon take their relationship to the next level, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas offered to officiate the star-studded couple’s wedding. During his appearance on CNN News Central on Friday, Lucas hoped Kelce’s Super Bowl weekend would end with a big win and an engagement.

“I am excited to officiate the wedding,” Lucas joked. “That would be the biggest job I could ever have. Forget before the mayor. You’re the officiant for Travis and Taylor. It would be a bigger wedding than Princess Diana and Prince Charles. It would be huge.”
Lucas then went into full details about the couple’s potential wedding.
“You know, what we will probably do differently,” he said. “I think the most Kansas City special thing to be could be the on-field proposal that you discussed before, Travis and Taylor, and then a wedding at Arrowhead Stadium. It’s like a Hallmark movie on steroids. Hallmark, by the way, [is] based in Kansas City. So it would be like everything we’ve worked on for 150 years, all coming together in KC. So hopefully, we get to come back and do that in a few weeks.”
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were first romantically linked in the second half of 2023. She appeared at several games throughout the 2023 and 2024 NFL seasons. He also joined her on stage for multiple Eras Tour shows.
The Kansas City Chiefs Lose the Super Bowl, Travis Kelce’s Future in the NFL in Question
Unfortunately for Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t win Super Bowl LIX. Although the team had won the past two Super Bowls, it lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22.
When asked about the loss, Kelce told reporters in the locker room, “We haven’t that bad all year.”
He did not reveal whether or not he would be retiring from the NFL. The tight end has played for the Kansas City Chiefs for the past 12 seasons.
