Of course, with the Met Gala being a gathering of the biggest celebs, Kim Kardashian was in attendance. Kim sported a semi-monotoned look. Rocking a stunning silver corset dress with a matching silver shawl. She also donned silverish-white hair to cap off the look.
The dress was curated by world-famous designer Maison Martin Margiela.
Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Dress Features Unique Detail
Maison Martin Margiela had a big night on the Met Gala red carpet. In addition to fitting Kardashian, the designer also created the dress for Hollywood star Zendaya.
In a press release, the designer revealed a unique tidbit about Kim’s dress. The crystals featured in the design are made from broken mirror fragments.
“For her appearance, John Galliano created a haute couture look for Kim Kardashian,” the release reads.
“Composed of a pale grey thistle-washed boiled cashmere cardigan, a couture corset rewoven from antique silver brocade, and a skirt in tooled silver metal evoking lace, flowers, leaves, and sprigs interlinked with silver chain and floral motifs cut from mirror fragments, as well as crystal pendants, pearls and set like a piece from high-jewelery.”

GQ Slammed Over Kardashian Nomination
Kim Kardashian made history in 2023 when she became the first woman to be named GQ Man of the Year. Kardashian was viewed as a trailblazer for the barrier-breaking accomplishment. But one person believes that Kardashian’s nomination has caused more harm than good.
“My initial thought was that this title is a cool breakaway from the magazine’s norm. However, after reading the article itself and perusing other stories in response to this news, I didn’t see the selection of a woman for this honor as empowering as it had seemed,” Katie McMahon of the Vanderbilt Hustler wrote.
“Rather than highlighting Kardashian’s contributions to fashion, feminism, or beauty, her powerful business and what she learned from her father was the primary focus of this issue that mainly focuses on the “Man of the Year” title. When GQ puts a woman on the cover and calls her both “tycoon of the year” and “man of the year,” it suggests that a successful woman with a powerful business empire must be like a man.”
