Kelly Ripa confessed that she once scolded a “loud” celebrity on her flight from Los Angeles to New York City.
On a recent episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, Ripa revealed that she scolded a “loud” celebrity (whose name she does not disclose) who was trash-talking other stars.
“Said famous person was shouting into their phone about other famous people,” Ripa said on Live With Kelly and Mark. “I sort of slapped at this person — not slapped, but I tried to reach them. I was like, ‘You’re shouting!'”
Apparently, the celebrity didn’t realize how loud he was being and was grateful Ripa had called him out.
“Was it good dish?” Ripa’s husband and cohost, Mark Consuelos, asked her.
“It was just dish, and I’m like, ‘You’re going to be in the New York Post — shut it!'” she recalled. “It was a loud, verbose conversation involving other famous people.”

Part of Ripa wanted to allow the celebrity to continue humiliating himself on the flight, she said. However, the other part felt called to stop him.
“It was like the angel and the Devil on your shoulder,” she explained. “The Devil was like, ‘Let them keep going. You want to hear the end of this story.'”
So it’s confirmed: even celebrities let their curiosity and gossip get the best of them! However, “The angel was like, ‘But it’s not right, and it’s none of our business, and it’s not any of our businesses. Save him now.'”
So, that’s exactly what Ripa did. She reached over and alerted the man of his volume before anyone could take note of the intimate phone conversation. Who knows what kind of tea he would’ve spilled if Ripa hadn’t stopped him?
