Three London Clinic Staffers Are Being Investigated Over Alleged Data Breach Involving Kate Middleton
Meanwhile, reports reveal that three staff members at the London Clinic, where Kate Middleton had her surgery done, are being investigated for data breach. Middleton’s records were part of the incident.
In a statement provided to PEOPLE, The London Clinic’s CEO Al Russell spoke out about the breach. “Everyone at The London Clinic is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties with regards to patient confidentiality.”
Russell also stated the Clinic takes pride in the outstanding care and discretion it aims to deliver to patients. “We have systems in place to monitor management of patient information and, in the case of any breach, all appropriate investigatory, regulatory, and disciplinary steps will be taken. There is no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or colleagues.”
The London Metropolitan Police also stated the incident isn’t something it is aware of. A spokesperson of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said there are strict rules on patient data that must be followed.
“I think we all want to get behind the Princess of Wales and Prince of Wales,” the spokesperson said. “And we wish her the speediest of recoveries.”
