It’s a Big Bange Theory reunion. Both Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik are set to reunite for the series finale of Young Sheldon. The spin-off is coming to an end.
In the first look below, you can see pictures of both Parsons and Bialik reprising their characters — Sheldon Cooper and Amy Fowler. The two appear to be still together after the show ended, and Sheldon looks happy. Parsons has played a role as narrator and producer on the show. Bialik has also lent her voice to the show.
In an interview, Parsons opened up about reprising his role again. “I felt a slight hesitancy when they first asked, just as I thought, I don’t really want to go revisit the character,” he told People. “But the way that they wrote it in was I thought so beautiful that it ended up being like this little extra coda or whatever to my experience with the character.”
‘Big Bang Theory’ Star Calls It A Gift
“It was this gift of a second layer of losing it out in a way that I had never seen coming, and it was a real treat,” he added. He also said he doesn’t have any advice for 15-year-old Iain Armitage either.
“It’s such a different experience for him, and he’s so smart. He doesn’t need any,” Parsons continued. “He’s got good guidance. He and his mother, they’re just fantastic.”
“So, he’ll be fine. God knows what he’ll do,” Parsons added, “He could do anything.”
Meanwhile, Armitage said he wants to branch out and do something completely different from his current role. “It’s funny, because I’ve had so much fun getting to do this character for seven awesome years that it would be cool to do something … just completely different from Sheldon in every way,” he told PEOPLE.
It’s probably a touching moment for Bialik as well to reprise her character. Here is what she said when the Big Bang Theory finished.
She said, “It’s time. We had an amazing run. This is my second time on a long running show and that’s truly unbelievable. All things must end—even the good things. It’s a shift. And we are shifting. I have more of my life to live. I have sons who are 10 and 13. I have a screenplay I wrote, which I hope to direct. I have projects I am proud to be producing in hopes that they can see the light of day. It’s over. I have to be in acceptance of what is instead of lamenting what was and fearing what comes next.”
