Tours are a great way for artists to reconnect with their fans. But the irony of it is that while the artists are getting closer to their fans, they are distancing themselves from their families, who are often unable to join them.
Jessica Biel Gets Candid on Justin Timberlake
Actress Jessica Biel, who has been married to Timberlake since 2012, is all too familiar with that.
“It’s always a work in progress. It’s constantly trying to find the balance, trying to find the time when we can connect,” Biel said during her appearance on “The View” on May 16.
Beal and Timberlake have been married for 11 years. She is working on new projects, and Timberlake just recently stepped back onto the music scene. And although she says she and Timberlake’s marriage is a constant “work in progress,” she also admits that virtual video calls help to make things easier.
“Thank goodness for Zoom and FaceTime. For traveling families — well, for everybody, really — but for parents who are gone a lot, that’s been really helpful,” Biel added.
Biel is much more than Justin Timberlake’s wife. The actress has appeared in hit productions like I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Blade, and Stealth.
Actress Speaks Out About New Project
But Biel is starting on a new career path. She has ventured into becoming an author. Her first book will tackle the difficult subject of periods.
“People don’t talk enough about periods,” Biel said to PEOPLE. “I’ve always felt strongly that we need to normalize the discussion around periods and as a parent, writing this book felt like an organic way to engage kids in the conversation from early on.”
Biel also recalled “crying hysterically,” the first time that she had her period.
“I was so scared,” she recalled. “Locked myself in the bathroom. I was crying hysterically, called my mom. Told her, you know, ‘something’s wrong.’ That’s what I felt, I felt like something was wrong with me. Even though she had prepared me, I wasn’t prepared.”
