Good and done with the cyberbullying, country music star Jelly Roll has reportedly quit social media over body shaming.
During a recent episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, revealed that he finally reached a breaking point when it came to being teased online. She stated he “got off the internet because he is so tired of being bullied about his f—ing weight.”
“And that makes me want to cry,” Bunnie Xo stated. “Because he is the sweetest angel baby. My husband doesn’t show it to you guys but I’m gonna have a very vulnerable moment here. It hurts him.”
Bunnie Xo then said she disagrees with those who believe they can say anything they want. “[They say], ‘Well you’re a celebrity, you’re supposed to handle it,’” she pointed out.
“Do you know how many people kill themselves from being bullied a year? Like, enough is enough. Don’t bully people because you never know where they are mentally.”
Jelly Roll has discussed his struggles with weight loss over the years. In 2018, he wrote that he once weighed over 500 pounds.
“Not sure how much, the [doctor’s] scale only weighed to 500 pounds,” he wrote. “They suggested I go to a meat processor or truck stop to get my actual weight. It was one of the most embarrassing days of my life.”
Following the incident with the doctor, Jelly Roll shared he lost “roughly 200 pounds” before gaining 60 pounds back.
“All I’ve ever known was being fat,” he said. “And I’m f—ing miserable. I wanna skydive, bungee jump, ride a bull, parasail, ride rollercoasters, I want to LIVE a normal life and have a normal relationship with food.”
Jelly Roll Recently Revealed He’s Training for a 5k Race
Jelly Roll’s decision to quit social media comes just days after he told PEOPLE that he has lost “70-something pounds” while preparing for a 5K.
“I’ve been really kicking a—, man,” he shared. “I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. “
Jelly Roll said he was eating healthy as well.
He also previously told the media outlet that while he’s training for the race, he’s not looking to out-pace any other runners.
“I don’t know if ‘running’ is going to be the word,” he said. “But I’m definitely going to get the 3.1 miles done – probably a brisk power walk.”
Bunnie XO is joining her husband in the race but as a supporter. “Poor thing, she’d have to walk so slow compared to how fast she does 3.1 miles,” Jelly Roll said. “For me, a 15-minute mile, [I’m] going to be huffing it a little bit. For Bunnie, a 15-minute mile is her sauntering.”
